Hi, I’m Abi Killebrew.
Abi has always had an itch for good food. She’ll do just about anything to fulfill that hunger.
Abi was born and raised here in Lake Tahoe. Growing up in the mountains, she created an avid love for skiing, wake surfing, hiking, and for the community. There’s just something truly amazing about Lake Tahoe and the people it harbors.
After graduating from high school, Abi took her education to the University of Oregon, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Food Tourism, with minors in Business, Spanish, and Food Studies.
Abi has over 10 years of experience in the culinary world, from working in restaurants, to working with other personal chefs, to managing at two local restaurants. Most recently, she studied culinary arts and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, California. Throughout her culinary arts studies and talking with mentors, Abi came to realize that to get everything she wanted out of life and living in the mountains, she wanted to create a career that allowed her to cook and create memories for amazing clients while also creating a balanced life to enjoy all the adventures that Tahoe continues to offer. Thus, Killer Eats was born.
Hi there!
First off I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for your interest in my company and learning more about me. I have always had a passion for food, as cliché as it is to say, but its true! Theres just something about the kitchen. Since I can remember, I have always been drawn to its eternity of creativity. As a little girl, I was always in the kitchen with my mom learning how to cook extravagant healthy meals. My interest in cooking continued to grow, from baking and frosting my own tiedye birthday cake at 13, to teaching myself to cook rack of lamb at 17 when I was home alone, I was always on the hunt to see what I could cook. Even after developing food allergies, my love for food was never deterred, but invigorated to see how to make things equally as delicious as their typical counter parts.
I never really knew I wanted to become a chef. I always had passion for food and how culture surrounds itself upon, but never really had the interest to become the “chef” overall. I always thought I would end up more in the restaurant business or food productions side. However, over the years, it came clear to me that the kitchen is my true calling. I love cooking so much, but more importantly I love cooking for others. It’s what brings me joy in my day. Sharing meals together are some of the happiest and most genuine moments of my life and I believe in creating those specials moments for others. I hope that I can bring a truly enjoyable experience to you and your loved ones.
Life is beautiful, the world is crazy, and if I can make this world just even a little bit better through food, then I'll start one bite at a time.
Much love,
